Baked cream pie

10 cups milk
Vanilla flavor
3.5 cups semolina
8 eggs
10 sheets filo pastry
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
For the syrup
1.5lbs sugar
3 cups water

Cooking Directions: 

- Bring 9 cups of milk to the boil in a saucepan together with the sugar and the vanilla flavor.
- Dissolve the semolina in the remaining cold milk and add this to the pan stirring continuously.
- Bring to the boil and cook until the cream thickens, stirring all the time with a wooden spoon.
- Remove from the heat, leave to cool slightly, add six eggs that you have beaten and stir well.
- Lay all the sheets of pastry in a well-buttered baking dish and pour the cream over these.
- Beat the two remaining eggs with two spoonful of sugar and pour over the top of the pie.
- Prepare the syrup by boiling the sugar with the water for 5 minutes.
- Pour the syrup over the pie while are the both hot and sprinkle with cinnamon.
