Chicken with «Trahana»

1 ½ kilos (3 lbs 6 oz) chicken
1 kilo (2 lbs 4 oz) ripe tomatoes
1 soup-dish «trahana» (either the sweet or the sour variety)
1 large onion, grated
4 tablespoons butter

Cooking Time: 
40 minutes
Cooking Directions: 

- Heat two tablespoons butter in a pot and saute the onion over a medium fire. Wash the chicken and cut it into portions. 
- Add it to the sauteed onion.
- Mash the tomatoes and add them to the pot. Place the chicken onto a platter, when it is done. 
- Strain the broth from the pot. Return the stained broth to the pot and bring it to a boil. Add the «trahana» stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. 
- Just before the «trahana» is done, add the chicken to the pot and cook together for about 5 minutes. 
- Finally, heat two tablespoons butter in a frying pan and pour it over the food. Serve hot.
