Half kilo (1 lb 2 oz) macaroni
1 and half kilos (3 lbs 6 oz) leeks
100 grams (3,5 oz) butter
1 and half kilos (3 lbs 6 oz) ripe tomatoes
1 pepper (hot)
100 grams (3,5 oz) black olives
3 eggs

Cooking Directions: 

- Boil them in salted water, then strain them and saute them in a pot with the remaining but¬ter for 10 minutes. 
- Cover the macaroni with the leeks and stick the hot pepper in one corner of the pan. Bake in a medium oven for 40 minutes. 
- In the mean¬time, bring a pot with water to the boil; with the boil¬ing water scald the olives and spread them all over the contents of the pan. 
- About 10 minutes before baking is over, pour the beaten eggs over the «pastitsio», sea¬son with salt and pepper and return it to the oven, until the crust, that has been created, turns golden brown. 
- Serve this dish either hot or cold.
