3 cups milk
3 teaspoons butter
- Wash the potatoes well and boil in plenty of salted water, with the peel on, for about half an hour.
- As soon as the potatoes can be picked easily with a fork, remove and leave to cool a little.
- Peel them and mash well.
- Place the mashed potatoes back in the pan and slowly add the milk, stirring continuously over a medium heat.
- When the mixture has become smooth, add the butter, salt and pepper.
- Stir well and serve hot.
