Ingredients: 

Half kilo (1 lb 2 oz) short, thick macaroni (tubetti)
1 kilo (2 lbs 4 oz) octopus
2 medium-sized onions, finely diced
3-4 ripe tomatoes, finely diced
1 bay leaf
2 teacups olive oil 
Salt
Pepper

Cooking Time: 
1 hour and 35 minutes
Cooking Directions: 

- Pour the oil into a pot and saute the onions lightly.
-  Wash the octopus, cut it into small pieces and add it to the pot with the onions while stirring. Add the tomatoes, the bay leaf, salt and pepper and cook for about an hour over a medium fire. 
- Then, add the macaroni and continue cooking for about 25 minutes. 
- Add some more water, if needed. Serve this dish hot as a first course.
