8 medium-sized onions
4-5 ripe tomatoes, grated
1 teacup olive
3 slices ham
Half teacup kefalotyri cheese, grated
A pinch of sugar
- Heat the oil in a pot and sauté the onions lightly.
- Add the grated tomatoes, a pinch of sugar, a small amount of water, salt and pepper and cook for 15 minutes.
- Finely chop the ham.
- Add it to the sauce and cook for another 10 minutes.
- Before removing sauce from the fire sprinkle with grated cheese.
- It accompanies pastas or pilaf.
