Quails with rice in tomato sauce

10 quails (about 1 kilo or 3 lbs 4 oz)
Half kilo (1 lb 2 oz) rice, washed and strained 
1 teacup olive oil
2 onions, finely diced
2 ripe tomatoes, finely diced
1 clove garlic

Cooking Time: 
Cooking Directions: 

- Heat the oil in a pot and saute the onions lightly. Add the quails, washed and cleaned. 
- Saute the quails with the onions over a medium fire for about ten minutes stirring constantly.
- Next, add the tomatoes, the garlic, the salt and pep¬per and some water.
Let everything cook for about an hour. Finally, add the rice (1 part rice to 2 parts water) and continue cooking for a further 15 minutes. Serve hot.
