500 grams
Ingredients:

250 grams (/9 oz) all- purpose (plain) flour, plus extra for dusting
Half teaspoon salt
1 cup (9 oz) butter, chilled
Hlf cup iced water

Cooking Time:
--
Cooking Directions:

- Sift together the flour and salt into a bowl. Using a knife or a pastry blender, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse bread crumbs.
- Alternatively, grate it into the flour and mix lightly. Add just enough water to bind and lightly work the dough with your fingers, gathering the crumbs together to form a ball.
- Wrap in plastic wrap (cling film) and chill in the refrigerator for 45 minutes or in the freezer for 25 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured, cold work surface into a rectangle 3 times longer than it is wide. Lightly flour the top of dough and fold the bottom third up over to the middle, and then fold the top third down to cover it.
- Give the dough a quarter turn and roll out again into a rectangle.
- Repeat the folding, turning, and rolling procedure four more times. Wrap in plastic wrap (cling film) and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Repeat the procedure twice more, chilling for 30 minutes each time.
- The dough can be kept in the refrig¬erator for 2-3 days and in the freezer for 3-6 months.
